The immunization program extended to 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds. Registration starts in a few days

Teenagers aged 16 and 17 will soon be able to sign up for vaccinations, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski announced. Such registration is expected to start as early as this coming Monday. Parental consent will be required.

More than 15 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been performed in Poland. More than 4 million people are fully vaccinated. According to government statistics on Thursday, the daily number of vaccinations was more than 410,000 – most in Mazovia and Silesia.

Soon those numbers could be even higher. This is because not only adults but also those aged 16 and 17 will be able to be vaccinated.

    – An ordinance to allow 16-year-olds to be vaccinated against COVID-19 will be signed tonight. There will be a new form with an additional parental consent component on Sunday. Registration opens on Monday – announced Health Minister Adam Niedzielski.

As of May 9, all adults now have an e-referral for the COVID-19 vaccination and can enrol for it. As of May 17, the interval between two doses of Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca is to be shortened to 35 days, or 5 weeks. To date, this period has been 42 days for Moderna and Pfizer’s two-dose vaccines and 82 days for AstraZeneca, respectively.

On Wednesday, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said he hoped to have all those willing to be vaccinated by the end of September.
