Thanks to the TDF (Wojska Obrony Terytorialnej – WOT) soldiers, Poland is stronger, more resistant to threats, said Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak in Grudziądz. He added that this formation helps Poles in many difficult, sudden and tragic situations.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense took part in Grudziądz in the military oath ceremony by the soldiers of the 8th Kujawsko-Pomorskie Territorial Defence Brigade.
“This is an important moment in the life of every soldier. The moment of taking the oath, and thus confirming loyalty to the Motherland and unconditional service to Poland. Thanks to you, Poland is stronger, thanks to you it is more resistant to threats. In peacetime, TDF soldiers help the injured. Not more than yesterday over 130 soldiers from the 11th Małopolska Brigade of Territorial Defense Force have helped and are still working in the Sądecki region, helping residents affected by the effects of a natural crisis, a storm,” said Błaszczak.
The minister also referred to other events from the last days when territorial help was needed. In his opinion, the importance of the role of Territorial Defence soldiers could also be seen when the coronavirus affected Poland.
