On September 9, exactly 10 years will have passed since “Gazeta Polska Codziennie” was published! This is a great opportunity to celebrate. We invite you to watch the broadcast of the gala on Tuesday, August 24th at 7 pm on TV Republika.
Energy, impetuosity and great hope brought together a group of courageous journalists – led by Tomasz Sakiewicz, editor-in-chief – who decided to launch a new title on the press market exactly 10 years ago in a beautiful tenement house from the year 1929 at Filtrowa Street, almost in the centre of Warsaw. In addition to the editorial team, special guests and friends will celebrate this important anniversary. It will be recalled what the so-called “zero issue” of the newspaper looked like, and the most important moments in the life of the editorial office and the functioning of “Gazeta Polska Codziennie”. Finally, they will talk about the fact that the decade of “Codzienna” functioning on the market is a decade of very important changes in our country and a fragment of a very important Polish history.
The jubilee of “Gazeta Polska Codziennie” is a great reason to celebrate, hence the editorial office organizes a gala. But it is also an opportunity to recognize those who have stood for freedom of speech and journalistic independence over the past 10 years. During a gala, which viewers of the TV Republika will be able to watch on August 24 at 7 pm, the winners of three “Gazeta Polska Codziennie” awards will be announced. There will also be surprise awards. While much is still a mystery, the Dziubek Band will certainly perform. The repertoire includes very lively music and rock interpretations of cult hits, such as: “Rock & Roll is King”, “Cicha woda brzegi rwie”, “Thunderstruck”, “Bałkanica”, “Moves like Jagger”, “Happy” or “Cykady na Cykladach”.
As the editorial team of Poland Daily 24, we would like to wish Gazeta Polska Codziennie many more decades of activity maintained and promoted by the courageous, independent journalists that made it possible to create such a wonderful project that delights its readers.
