There were attempts to forcibly cross the border in Dubicze Cerkiewne and Czeremcha. Stones were thrown, and soldiers were blinded with green lasers. One of the soldiers was hit in the head with a stone. Foreigners smashed a window on an army vehicle. “No one was injured,” reported Sergeant Major Ewelina Szczepańska.
According to Szczepańska, around 4 pm on Monday, an attempt to forcibly cross the Polish-Belarusian border was made by a group of about 100 people in the vicinity of Dubicze Cerkiewne.
“They used green-colored lasers to blind our officers. Foreigners were throwing stones; smashed a window on an army vehicle. No one was hurt. The attempt was thwarted,” informed Sergeant Major Ewelina Szczepańska from the press section of the Border Guard.
The second attempt to force the Polish-Belarusian border took place near the town of Czeremcha. About 50 foreigners took part in it.
“It was also a very aggressive group. Branches, logs, stones were thrown. One of the soldiers was hit in the head with a stone. Despite his helmet, he had a cut on his head. Medical assistance was called to the scene,” Szczepańska added.
Since the beginning of the year, the Border Guard noted over 33 thousand attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border, including 5.3 thousand in November, nearly 17.3 thousand in October, almost 7.7 thousand in September, and over 3.5 thousand in August.
