    Russia threatens 'political and military consequences' if Finland and Sweden try joining NATO [VIDEO]

    The spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said during a press conference that Russia would have to react if Sweden and Finland wanted to join NATO. She threatened with “political-military” consequences.

    Today, Zakharova spoke at a press conference about the conflict in Ukraine triggered by Russia. In her speech, she said Moscow would have to react if Finland and Sweden wanted to join NATO. She threatened with “political and military consequences.”

     

    “The accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, which is primarily a military alliance as you well understand, would have serious military and political consequences, which would require our country to make response steps,” said the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

     

    In recent days, both Sweden and Finland have given serious support to Ukraine, which is resisting the Russian invasion. Both countries also unequivocally condemned Russia for its aggression against its Western neighbour.
