The G7 threatens Russia with further, severe sanctions

The foreign ministers of the G7 countries have agreed to impose further sanctions on Russia if it does not stop attacking Ukraine – said Yoshimasa Hayashi, head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, quoted by Reuters News Agency today.

“We called on Russia to immediately stop its attack on Ukraine, which has even harmed ordinary citizens, and withdraw its forces,” Hayashi told reporters.

“We have agreed, as G7, to impose further, severe sanctions if Russia does not stop its assault,” added the Japanese Minister, who had taken part in a meeting of G7 heads of diplomacy in Brussels via a videoconference.
