Iga Świątek made Miami final [VIDEO]

Iga Świątek is unstoppable! The world’s best racket made it to the final of the WTA tournament in Miami. In the semifinals, she defeated Jessica Pegula, 6:2, 7:5. In the final, she will play against Japanese Naomi Osaka.

Iga Świątek won her 16th consecutive WTA game. It’s the best result in her career. She lost her last match against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko on February 16 in Dubai.

A 20-year-old is battling for the final on Saturday. Last season Iga won in Adelaide and Rome; at the end of February, she won the tournament in Doha. In Indian Wells, she won two weeks later.

Officially, the Pole will lead the world rankings on April 4, replacing Australian Ashleigh Barty, who ended her career and asked to be removed from the WTA list last week.

“With No.1 Ashleigh Barty’s retirement, the Australian will vacate the Hologic WTA Tour’s top spot in the next rankings cycle, which will take place on April 4 after the WTA 1000 event in Miami concludes,” WTA informed then.
