    Grodzisk Mazowiecki helps Ukrainian kids

Preparatory units are school departments dedicated to kids who know little to no Polish and have difficulty adapting to new environments. Their point is to teach Polish, prepare to work in the Polish educational system, and integrate the kids.

According to the Minister of Education Przemysław Czarnek, 140,000 Ukrainian kids and teens have been embodied directly in the Polish educational system. Grodzisk Mazowiecki community took in 500 children, about 400 of which were integrated into public schools immediately. However, a great number of them don’t know Polish or their knowledge doesn’t let them get a full understanding of the program. That’s why on April 4th, 2022 the community of Grodzisk Mazowiecki opened preparatory units in schools.

There are 13 preparatory units in primary schools 2, 4 and in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. The community is planning on opening even more of them. But not only children of this age are taken care of, but also kindergarteners. They are taken into public preschools without delays. Besides that, the mayor Grzegorz Benedykciński announced that 100 places in private kindergartens will be provided between May and August 2022.
