    Presidents to visit Kyiv

    Today, the Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will visit Kyiv to meet the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “It is the decision of President Andrzej Duda; This decision was supported by the Presidents of the Baltic States who are accompanying him. This is a joint initiative,” Pawel Szrot, Secretary of State and Chief of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland President said.

    The Secretary of State and Head of the International Policy Bureau Jakub Kumoch, announced this morning that President Andrzej Duda is in Ukraine accompanied by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Latvia’s Egils Levits and Estonia’s Alar Karis. Presidents will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

     

    Szrot said that the visit of the presidents aimed to support Ukraine – symbolically through presence, but also politically and materially. 

     

    “This is, of course, the decision of President Duda. This decision was supported by the Presidents of the Baltic States that are accompanying him. This is a joint initiative,” he said.

     

    “The trip ends in Kyiv and will be part of the meeting with the President,” said the Chief of the Cabinet, who was asked about the itinerary. He added that information about a possible press conference would be kept up to date.

     

    “This visit to the war zone must be dynamic by nature and subject to various modifications. Nothing can be ruled out. A fixed point is the meeting with President Zelensky,” he insisted.

     

    On Tuesday evening, the Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonian Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets met at a special summit to express their solidarity with Ukraine. Politicians discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the region as well as ways to support the struggling Ukrainians.
