Poland’s prime minister on Thursday confirmed Poland’s support for Finland’s rapid NATO membership, calling the move “good news for the security of Europe and Poland.”
Earlier on Thursday, Finland’s president and the prime minister said the country planned to start accession procedures as soon as possible. The country’s move away from its traditional neutrality has been hastened by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“Finland’s decision to initiate NATO accession is great news for Poland and Europe’s security (…) Poland supports Finland joining NATO as quickly and smoothly as possible,” Morawiecki wrote on Twitter.
