    Marta Fidrych won the 2022 IWAS Wheelchair Fencing World Cup

    Today Marta Fidrych has defeated 18 competitors from Wheelchair (A) Women’s Épée group during the 2022 IWAS Wheelchair Fencing World Cup! A gold medal belongs to a Polish athlete. This is the second successive title in the women’s category A of our Paralympic Champion.

    Wheelchair fencing is a version of fencing for athletes with a disability. It is also one of the sports in the Summer Paralympic Games that take place every 4 years in different countries.

    During the 2022 IWAS Wheelchair Fencing World Cup, Findrych won against South Korea’s Kwon Hyo Kyeong in the final encounter.

     

     

    Marta Fidrych is a 32 years old Polish foilswoman from Warsaw. She has practised fencing since she was 9. She has been a member of the Polish National Team for 13 years now. She is a Paralympic Champion (4th place) from London 2012 and Rio 2016, a two-time European Champion, and a multiple medallist of the World Championships.
