    ‘Theatrical May’ in Warsaw gardens

‘Theatrical May’ is a yearly event where the actors of Akt Theatre in Warsaw perform plays, dances and pantomime outdoors. This year’s edition takes place on May 20th-21st and everyone is free to come.

The festival was created in 2013 after Akt Theatre changed its localisation to Łaziebna 9. Performing outdoors was a way of promoting the new place and engaging with the local community. One of the ways of that is a walking act “Podróżnicy” (Eng.”Travellers” – a mix of theatre, pantomime and dance that integrated the audience into the show. It took place at 6 P.M. on May 20th at the Poliński Park.

The next day, at 8:30 P.M. there’s an open-air spectacle “Poza Czasem” (Eng.: “Beyond Time”). It’s a steampunk story about achieving your dreams and the speed of life, accompanied by created-on-the-spot music played by Dominik Strycharski. This part of the show takes place in the courtyard of Akt Theatre at Łaziebna 9 in Warsaw. Entry to both shows is free.
