They took a taxi from Poland to Italy. Missing teenagers found in Rome

Police have found a couple of teenagers from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship who went missing on 10 May. 14-year-old Nicole and 16-year-old Łukasz were hiding in Rome. According to media reports, the couple got from Poland to the Italian capital by taxi. They paid PLN 12 000 for the trip.

On 10 May, the police in Bydgoszcz reported that two teenagers had gone missing. It was suspected that a 14-year-old girl from Bydgoszcz and a 16-year-old boy from Osielsko had run away from home. A yellow Interpol note was issued for the missing.

The search for the missing pair began. The teenagers were found after nearly three weeks. As it turned out, they were not in Poland.

Following media reports, the teen’s parents are well-known and respected in Bydgoszcz and it is thought that the couple spent money Łukasz had earned from cryptocurrencies.

“14-year-old Nicole and 16-year-old Łukasz were found on 31 May in the Italian capital. It was possible thanks to the cooperation of the Polish and Italian police,” informed Lidia Kowalska from the press team of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz.

According to THE first NEWS, with the help of Italian police, they were found staying in a luxury 1,400 Euro per night apartment in the capital after police tracked them down through their telephone’s IMEI number.

The teenagers have returned to Poland. It is not known whether they will be taken care of by the family or juvenile court.

The probation officer in Bydgoszcz asked by Super Express newspaper told that “the fact that they fled together does not mean that they slept together. He is extremely gifted and very intelligent. For us to deal with this matter, we must receive a request from the police. Merely running away from home is not a crime.”
