An expert will decide whether investigators will file charges against former Supreme Court President Malgorzata Gersdorf and her husband Judge Bohdan Zdziennicki. As Fakt informs, investigators from the District Attorney’s Office in Suwalki conducted a trial experiment concerning the circumstances of the fatal motorcyclist accident near Zambrow. Its results are to be known at the end of June.
Let us remind, on 7 April, on the bypass of Zambrow, a 26-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident. An important piece of evidence is the dashcam footage of a car that was entering this bypass. The media reported that in the car, which was driving right next to the accident, there was the President of the Supreme Court Malgorzata Gersdorf with her husband Bohdan Zdziennicki (former President of the Constitutional Tribunal) – they allegedly failed to stop and help the motorcyclist. Witnesses of the incident were sought for a long time.
Gersdorf denied that she and her husband were involved in the accident
In mid-April, TVP Info revealed the footage of the incident. The footage shows a motorcyclist crashing into the left lane, right next to a passing car in which Gersdorf and her husband were supposed to be. According to witnesses, the black car slowed down and then drove away from the scene.
Much work has been done on the evidence
“Preliminary investigations show that the motorbike glided by the judges’ car shortly after the accident and then flew in front of their bonnet. The video also shows the car braking at the same moment and then accelerating again,” we read in “Fakt”.
The expert’s opinion should be known at the end of June and then a decision will be made on possible charges and the direction of further proceedings. According to “Fakt” sources in the attorney’s office, the possible influence of the behaviour of the couple’s car on the accident and the reason why the couple did not inform the police about the incident are also among the investigated issues. Malgorzata Gersdorf in an interview with RMF FM stressed that she had not known about any accident, but the recording shows that it was difficult not to see the whole event.
