    EYOF BANSKÁ BYSTRICA 2022 – swimmer Mikołaj Filipiak took 5th place in the 400m freestyle

    On Monday, July 25 the 16th edition of Olympic Youth Festival of Europe 2022 in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia has started and it will last till July 30. The Polish Youth National Team will compete during the event in 10 categories. The first starts of our Polish representatives has already taken place and we can be proud of our swimmers. Mikołaj Filipiak took 5th place in the 400 m freestyle.

    Europe’s most exciting young sporting talents are set to compete at the 16th edition of the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), which officially opened tonight by the SNP Memorial in the Slovakian city of Banská Bystrica.

    The participants of the 16th Summer Olympic Youth Festival of Europe Banská Bystrica 2022 will compete in 10 sports disciplines. Polish representatives will take part in 8 of them: badminton, gymnastics, judo, cycling, athletics, swimming, volleyball and tennis. Only the basketball and handball tournaments will take place without Polish teams.

    So far, Polish representatives in the history of competitions in the summer edition of this event have won 152 medals (43 gold, 45 silver, 64 bronze). Among the Polish medalists of summer festivals there are players known for their senior performances: Przemysław Stańczyk, Paweł Korzeniowski and Radosław Kawęcki (swimming), Ewa Krause and Daria Pogorzelec (judo), Tomasz Ścigaczewski and Michał Bieniek (athletics) as well as volleyball players and volleyball players – Agata Mróz, Katarzyna Skowrońska, Marcin Możdżonek, Jakub Kochanowski and Bartosz Kwolek.

    Today, at the 400m freestyle finals Mikołaj Filipiak took 5th place. Congratulations!
