2022 Amputee Football World Cup: Uzbekistan too strong for Poland [VIDEO]

The White Reds have started their fight in the World Championship. The 6th official Amputee Football World Championship has started in Turkey. In its first match in Group E, Poland lost to former three-time Champions Uzbekistan 1:3.

Both teams were striving to take the lead from the very beginning of the match, but their players’ shots were blocked. In the first half, Bartosz Łastowski scored a goal. Unfortunately, in 11 min a second goal was scored, but this time for Uzbekistan – Khaydarali. Wozniak defended Khudoykulov’s shot in a one-on-one situation in 13 min.

The Polish team tried to make up for the loss, but they lacked ideas for tearing apart the rivals’ defence. Their shots were ineffective. They played nervously and made mistakes. The Uzbekistan players controlled the situation on the pitch, and in 48 min they increased the score when Khudoykulov scored a goal.

Poland will play against Tanzania on Sunday morning and against European runner-up Spain on Monday afternoon. The top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the next phase. 24 teams are participating in the World Cup. In Friday’s inaugural match, Turkey beat France 3:0 (Group A).
