Last year, the tennis players competed in Guadalajara, Mexico. Now the WTA Finals are moving to Fort Worth. Garbine Muguruza enjoyed the victory last season, while Iga Swiatek dropped out in the group stage. This year, Iga is a favourite.
Now the Pole will be the clear favourite to triumph, although there are still several tournaments ahead and the balance of power in women’s tennis may change. Nevertheless, the player from Raszyn has a great chance to repeat Agnieszka Radwanska’s feat from 2015.
“The WTA Finals are going to be the most intense tournament of the season… but I’ll have a few days in Florida to get into the rhythm before going,” San Diego Champ Iga Świątek said.

The WTA Finals will be played in Fort Worth from October 31 to November 7.
The WTA Finals, or tournament of champions, is a unique competition. The players, unlike other tournaments, compete first in a group stage. The eight participants are separated into two groups. After three matches, the two highest-ranked tennis players enter the semifinals, and the winners face each other in the finals.
