Bartosz Ostalowski, professional armless drifter, becomes Guinness World Record holder [VIDEO]

Bartosz Ostalowski is the world’s only professional sports driver without arms to drive a car. What is more, he made history in world motorsport by setting a Guinness World Record and a Polish Record for the fastest foot-driven car drift.

Bartosz successfully competes on equal terms with able-bodied drivers in the Polish Drifting Championship and European leagues. He has proven many times that he is not afraid of any challenge and keeps raising the standards higher and higher for himself.

On 30 September 2022, Bartosz Ostałowski went down in the history of world motorsport by setting a Guinness World Record and a Polish Record for the fastest foot-driven car drift. In addition, the record attempt took place on a 2km runway at Pila Airport.

Bartosz accelerated to a speed of 277 km/h, in order to use the handbrake a moment later and initiate a skid. Through the 50-metre measuring zone, Bartosz skided at an average speed of 231.66 km/h and a maximum lean angle of 60 degrees.

The runway, which is 2 km long and 60 metres wide, allowed adequate speed and safe conditions for this task. The guidelines for this record were very demanding and detailed the conditions that had to be met by the participant. The most important point was to drive through the 50-metre measuring zone at the right speed and the right angle of inclination (minimum 30 degrees).

The car with which Bartosz Ostałowski set the new world record is a drifting BMW E92 called Furia, the heart of which is a powerful 7-litre LS3 V8 twin-turbocharged engine producing 1000 HP and 1280 Nm of maximum torque. For the transmission, in turn, there is a ZF 8HP90 automatic transmission with individual control.
