Russia lies about the causes of World War II in areas that until now seemed agreed and unquestionable. We can’t allow this – Polish government spokesperson Piotr Mueller said on Friday.
– Many people have been trying to play with history, presenting it in an improper way – Mueller admitted speaking to a Polish public television broadcaster (quoted by PAP). Mueller said that Russia’s recent activities were an example of such behaviour and added that Russia has been simply lying about the causes of World War Two. Referring to the Thursday resolution adopted by the Polish Sejm to condemn the December comments of Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the alleged role of Poland in the outbreak of World War II and the Holocaust, Mueller admitted that it would not improve Poland’s relations with Russia, but stressed that Poland could not allow anyone to tell lies about its story.
