    Poland's new economic initiative

Jacek Sasin, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets, announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos the plan of establishing a Business Council grouping the presidents of the biggest companies of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Sasin emphasized in Davos that Poland is going to take responsibility for the economic development of the entire region. “We will persuade businesspeople from the entire world and the heads of important institutions responsible for development that it is worth investing in Poland, worth investing in our part of Europe, that it simply pays” the minister said (quoted by the Polish Press Agency). According to the Agency, Sasin drew attention to the fact that the CEE region is developing extremely dynamically. He pointed out that of the 10 fastest developing European countries in recent years, seven are countries of the CEE region with Poland as the leading growing state.
