US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher emphasized on Twitter that F-35
fighters will strengthen the Polish-American partnership for the good of joint security.
On Monday, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak announced that on Friday in Dęblin (eastern Poland) an agreement will be signed to buy 32 state-of-the-art fifth generation F-35 fighters for the Polish air force. According to Blaszczak, Poland will sign a contract with Lockheed Martin worth USD 4.6 billion (EUR 4.17 billion). As PAP reminds, according to the declarations made by Lockheed Martin last year, Poland could receive its first F-35s in 2024. “This week (Polish Defence) Minister Blaszczak will sign the agreement to buy 32 American F-35s. I’m proud that the U.S. is sharing the latest defense technology with key allies. F-35 fighters will
enhance Poland’s interoperability with U.S. forces and our partnership for common security” Ambassador Mosbacher wrote on Twitter.
