Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak announced on Thursday that Polish cities will receive subsidies for the purchase of 190 electric buses.
The Minister announced – according to PAP – that the total value of the projects is over PLN 668 mln (EUR 156.2 mln), including EU funding of PLN 460 mln (EUR 107.6 mln) as part of EU’s Infrastructure and Environment programme (POIiS). “The authorities of the cities focus more and more on the improvement of the quality of life of residents. Ecological and friendly public transport is slowly becoming a standard. Another 190 new electric buses will appear in Polish cities thanks to the European Union funding” Jarosinska-Jedynak said at the conference (quoted by PAP). Andrzej Adamczyk, Minister of Infrastructure, said at the same conference the Polish government is seeking ways to reduce emissions from transport and support local governments.
