From March 15 this year, employers in Poland informed about the employment of over 270 thousand Ukrainian citizens. The vast majority of the new employees, that is 194 thousand, are women. In recent months, most Ukrainians have found a job in the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie, Dolnośląskie, Łódzkie, and Wielkopolskie. The employment process under the simplified procedure fulfilled its intended purpose.
The citizens of Ukraine work mainly in manufacturing, transport, warehouse management, and activities related to accommodation and catering services, as well as in agriculture and construction. Among the applications from employers, there is also some relevant information about new foreign employees who became a part of the Polish society and have been employed in such necessary professions as doctors, nurses, caregivers of the elderly, and auxiliary medical staff.
The data of the Statistics Poland show that the unemployment rate in May this year was 5.1 percent. This is a decrease concerning both April and the same period last year. The good situation of the labor market in Poland is also confirmed by Eurostat data for May this year. It shows that Poland once again found itself at the forefront of European countries with the lowest unemployment rate.
