Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to make a visit to Poland this week, and the trip is set to be “multi-dimensional,” according to the head of the Polish President’s Office.
Grazyna Ignaczak-Bandych has confirmed that the president will make his first formal visit to Poland since the Russian invasion of Ukraine over a year ago.
“It is a symbolic visit – President Zelensky is coming officially, it has been announced,” Ignaczak-Bandych said.
“I can say that it is a ‘multi-dimensional’ visit – it’s not only an official one, but Zelensky will be accompanied by his wife,” Ignaczak-Bandych went on to say. “It will start with a welcome ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace, which will be followed by face-to-face talks, then delegation talks and then a meeting with people – Poles, Ukrainians.”
Grazyna Ignaczak-Bandych, one of the organizers of the upcoming visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to Ukraine, has assured that the highest security measures have been taken to ensure the trip’s success. She revealed that all state security services are collaborating and are on high alert. The agenda of the visit will reportedly include economic and historical topics.
Poland and Ukraine have been reportedly making preparations for a good neighbourhood treaty, according to Grazyna Ignaczak-Bandych.
“This treaty is being prepared by people delegated by the Foreign Ministry and the President’s Office, and the work is continuing,” she said.
Earlier on Monday, Marcin Przydacz, head of the Polish president’s International Policy Bureau, told the private radio station RMF FM that Zelensky will hold talks with his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, and will meet Poles and Ukrainians living in Poland.
Polish President Andrzej Duda and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will meet tomorrow to discuss a range of issues, including security, economic cooperation, politics and historical matters. The transportation of Ukrainian grain through Poland, which has posed difficulties for Polish farmers attempting to market their own goods, will also be addressed.
