The president of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński, has suggested that there are indications that the ongoing war can be resolved through a compromise. Kaczyński: “We do not know how the war in Ukraine may end; there are reasons to believe that it may end with a certain compromise and not a final settlement, and this will mean that new dangers may come soon.”
“Strong anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense and an adequate number of soldiers are tasks that are a priority to be performed. I am grateful to Minister Blaszczak for undertaking this task and reforming the Polish Army”, he added.
“We must bring about a state in which the Polish Army will have all these capabilities in full: it will be able to defend itself, counterattack – because we do not want to attack anyone first – it will be able to carry out everything related to actions that will ultimately reckon to victory in the war. We must build a victorious army,” declared the Law and Justice Party President.
“Today, we do not know how the war in Ukraine may end. There are indications that it may end with a certain compromise and not a final settlement, and this, unfortunately, will mean that new dangers may come soon. We do not want such a solution,” he said.
“We fully support the Ukrainians in their demand that their entire territory be liberated, but not everything depends on us,” added the PiS president, according to whom “the state of readiness must be obtained quickly and the army is the basis here.”
“You have the right, ladies and gentlemen, to expect support from all parts of the state apparatus, but also from at least that part of society that really experiences these motivations, these emotions, emotions related to patriotism, belonging to the Polish nation,” he said to Jarosław Kaczyński, who added that he is convinced that “there are enough Poles like this for our army to implement its plans.”
