    Łukasz Licznerski wins 2024 Polish Rapid Chess Championship, with Jakub Seemann and Krzysztof Raczek also on the podium.

    Łukasz Licznerski claimed the gold medal at the 2024 Polish Rapid Chess Championship, held in Lubin. The 29-year-old triumphed after scoring 8 points across nine rounds. Joining him on the podium were 16-year-olds Jakub Seemann, who took silver, and Krzysztof Raczek, who earned bronze. All three finished with the same number of points, with final standings determined by tiebreaks.

    The tournament featured 392 players, including some of Poland’s top talents. Notably, Alicja Śliwicka, the top-performing woman, finished 25th with 6.5 points, defeating defending champion Kacper Piorun along the way. The time control for the event was 10 minutes per player, with an additional five seconds per move.

    First Medals for the Top Trio
    For Licznerski, Seemann, and Raczek, these were their first-ever medals at the Polish Rapid Chess Championship. In addition to their titles, they received prize money of 6,000, 5,000, and 4,000 PLN, respectively.
