    Alcohol-infused ice creams have entered regular sales, following in the footsteps of “alko-tubes.” These frozen desserts, containing about 4% alcohol, are easily mistaken for non-alcoholic products due to their placement alongside regular frozen goods in store freezers.

    Confusing Packaging Raises Concerns

    Available in four flavors, IceShots, resembling popular cocktails, have been on the market for a few seasons. Despite clearly labeling the products as containing alcohol and restricting their sale to customers over 18, their resemblance to regular ice pops has raised concerns. Shoppers may not notice the difference, leading to potential confusion, especially in mixed-freezer sections.

    While the Koszalin-made ice creams have not faced the same backlash as “alko-tubes,” which received media attention, the issue has been widely discussed online. Some believe clearer packaging rules are necessary to avoid confusion and protect consumers, especially minors.

    The controversy prompted the removal of these products from the manufacturer’s website, further fueling the debate about whether alcoholic ice creams should remain available in the same manner as other frozen treats.
