    Record Low Unemployment in Poland: October 2024

    Poland’s unemployment hits a record low in October 2024, with a rate of 5%.

    Poland’s Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Policy has announced that the country’s registered unemployment rate remained steady at 5% in October 2024. This marks the lowest number of unemployed individuals recorded in October since data collection began in 1990.

    Unemployment Numbers and Trends

    By the end of October, there were 767.1 thousand registered unemployed people, which is a slight decrease from September. The unemployment rate ranged from 3% in the Greater Poland region to 8.4% in Subcarpathia.

    Regional Variations in Unemployment

    Despite a few regional variations, such as a slight increase in 11 counties affected by floods, overall, the unemployment rate has seen improvements in most regions. In 21 counties, unemployment fell, with Ząbkowice County seeing a notable 0.6% drop.

    Poland’s Performance in Europe

    According to Eurostat, Poland continues to maintain one of the lowest unemployment rates in the European Union, standing at 2.9% in September 2024. This is only slightly behind the Czech Republic, which recorded 2.8%.
