Irish budget airline Ryanair is to extend its summer schedule of flights from the southern Polish city of Krakow by ten new destinations, bringing the total to 73, the airline announced on Friday.
The carrier also said it expects to service 4.5 million passengers in Krakow this year and 15 million nationally.
Michal Kaczmarzyk, CEO of Ryanair subsidiary Buzz, told journalists on Friday that in the coming summer season Ryanair would offer 260 flights a week from Krakow with the new connections being to Agadir, Ancona, Berlin, Budapest, Lille, Newcastle, Riga, Stockholm, Turin and Olsztyn-Mazury in north-eastern Poland.
He added that the total offer of flights was 40 greater than the pre-pandemic summer 2019 season. “We’re growing in Krakow by 20 percent compared to the summer of 2019,” Kaczmarzyk said.
The Buzz CEO also said that Krakow’s Balice Airport was a strategic centre for Ryanair. “It is our biggest base in Poland,” he said. “Next to Budapest it is Ryanair’s biggest airport in this part of Europe.”
