He was born in the village of Kobiele Wielkie, near Radomsko in 1867. His parents wanted him to become an organist or a tailor but he was stubborn and run away several times. Even though the title of journeyman tailor is his only formal certificate of education, he started out by writing poetry and eventually became a Nobelist in literature. Władysław Stanisław Reymont - a Polish novelist and the 1924 laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature. His best-known work is the award-winning four-volume great national epic "The Peasants" (Polish: "Chłopi").
This week falls the Multicultural Week in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. For that occasion, multiple concerts, historical reconstructions and workshops on the cultures present in Grodzisk are organized. Every year, on World Public Service Day, the United Nations gives away its most prestigious honours - the UN Public Service Award. Today on June 22, the 2022 UNPS Day commemoration was celebrated online. The main discussed point was the role of public institutions and public servants in building back better from COVID-19 as they work to meet the 2030 deadline for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. This year, a Polish project - the State Health Inspection Record System (SEPIS) was awarded. This distinction shows that Poland sets world standards in the area of using digital tools to respond to crisis situations.

Before the bronze medal match, Hungary had lost just once in Greece, in the semi-finals against the Netherlands and was the 2017 IHF Women's Youth Beach Handball World Championship winner, bronze medalists at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games and the current European champion. Nevertheless, Poles defeated this tough opponent and came home with the bronze medal!
Shortly after beginning the occupation of Poland during World War II, the Nazis started mass executions of Polish civilians. The biggest one took place on June 20th and 21st of 1940 in Palmiry - a village 30 kilometres from Warsaw, in the Kampinos Forest. Now, it’s a Memorial Site with over 2,000 burials.

"Clatter'56" is the event commemorating June 1956, the workers' uprising in Poznań. This year, the "Clack'56" statuettes will be awarded for the first time in Poznań on June 27. They will be awarded to people who testify with their achievements to the values in the name of which the protests in 1956 were made. The statuettes are modeled on the original workers' clogs - "okuloki".
On June 14, two young men paid with a souvenir Polish currency money bill of PLN 200 at the restaurant in Jabłonka, Lesser Poland. They were caught in one of the local shops when they to trick the salesman again. Luckily, he spotted the sign on the banknote and refused the transaction. The police were informed after the incident. Producing or using counterfeit money is a form of fraud or forgery, in this case, the value of the souvenir currency should be only sentimental or cultural.
On June 19, the opening ceremony of the Upper Silesia Pantheon took place in Katowice.
