Polish Space Agency (POLSA) has organized a series of meetings under the name of the Earth Observations Forum. This year's edition of the forum will take place on November 8-9 in Warsaw and online. Earth Observation Forum is aimed at representatives of public administration, science, and industry who want to use satellite data in their work, companies that offer services in this field, and everyone interested in this subject.
Founded in 1972, EFMD is a global, non-profit, membership-driven organisation dedicated to management development. It is recognised globally as an accreditation body for business schools, business school programmes, and corporate universities. Recently, University of Economics in Katowice has joined the EFMD Programme Accreditation community. Vice-Rector for Education and International Cooperation, University of Economics in Katowice Sławomir Smyczek: "The possibility to use the EFMD Accredited logo will definitely strengthen the position and prestige of the University in the country and abroad."
On October 19-22, the 4th Congress of International Researchers of Polish History takes place in Kraków. "There are nearly 30 discussion panels that represent an extraordinary wealth of perspectives and intellectual inspirations", the press spokesman for the Polish History Museum Dr. Michał Przeperski said. The series of conferences, held every five years, was initiated by Cracow historians. The meetings bring together researchers from all over the world interested in Polish the history, culture, and language. The main goal of the conference is to foster dialogue, exchange experience and promote research into the history of Poland.

Łomża Industria Kielce fights for the first ever world club handball championship. The Polish Champions received a wild card for the tournament as the second team of the Champions League. Six years ago, they won third place, and now they have a chance to fight for victory. Today, the team won its first match with the winner of the Asian Champions League, Al Kuwait in IHF Super Globe. The Łomża Industria Kielce team defeated their rivals 47:26 (23:14).
On November 23-25, at the AMBEREXPO Exhibition and Congress Center in Gdańsk, the national SkillsPoland 2022 competition will be held. The winners will have the opportunity to represent Poland during EuroSkills 2023, i.e. the European Skills Games. Next year, Poland will host this competitions for the first time in history. EuroSkills is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe that is held every two years. EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 will be the 8th edition of the competition.
An ancient, monumental temple dating back approx. 2,000 years was discovered by the Polish-Croatian researchers under the 18th century church in Danilo (Dalmatia), in the former Roman city of Ridit. The findings were made thanks to the use of GPR. A joint Polish-Croatian project has been underway at Danilo since 2019.
Nano Film Festival is an international festival of short feature films up to 30 min open to all types of filmmaking: from productions made in film schools to off-line creativity. The festival creates a space for debut – a short film is the first step on the way to the long feature film. The 1st edition of the festival will be held in Cracow on October 21-23. The artistic director of the event is Robert Gliński, film and theater director.
According to Daily Legal Newspaper (Polish: Dziennik Gazeta Prawna), 30 judges of the Supreme Court have stated that they will not adjudicate jointly with persons appointed to that court in the procedure involving the present National Council of the Judiciary. "In such a situation, joining the proceedings and passing judgments is unacceptable". The group of so-called old judges who issued such a declaration includes President of the Criminal Chamber Michał Laskowski, President of the Chamber of Labour and Social Insurance Piotr Prusinowski, Włodzimierz Wróbel, and Dariusz Zawistowski.
Almost 11,000 rural housewives' associations registered in Poland play a key role in the everyday life of the Polish countryside - not only in nurturing its identity and tradition, but also in dynamic modernization. Their members from all over the country met in Warsaw at the second nationwide conference "The Circle of Rural Housewives - Leaders of a Safe Village".
Today is the 44th anniversary of the election of Karol Wojtyła to the See of Peter. Card. Wojtyła was elected Pope on 16.10.1978 at 5.15 pm in the 7th round of voting. He took the name John Paul II. He was the 264th Pope. His 27-year pontificate was one of the longest in history.

On October 12, the 18th edition of the Witold Lipski Award for outstanding achievements in the field of computer science and achievements documented in publications ended. Dr. Filip Mazowiecki from the University of Warsaw was awarded in the category of theoretical aspects of computer science. The winners of two equal awards in the category of computer applications were Dr. Michał Koziarski from the Wrocław University of Technology and Dr. Mateusz Ostaszewski from the Warsaw University of Technology. During a ceremonial meeting organized at the University of Warsaw, in the presence of 50 distinguished guests, Chairman of the Prize Council, Prof. Leszek Pacholski, and Chairman and Executive Director of the Kościuszko Foundation in New York, Marek Skulimowski presented the winners with prizes of PLN 100,000 in total.
The results of the contest "The Best Annual Report" has been announced during the Final Gala at Warsaw Stock Exchange. KGHM received the "The Best Of The Best" award in the competition of the Institute of Accounting and Taxes, obtaining the highest rating among participants.
The incident resembling a crime film scene took place at one of the gas stations in Grabiszyn in Wrocław. The escalation of aggression between drivers was due to an allegedly incorrectly performed maneuver by the driver of the bus vehicle. It was enough for one of the participants to take out an object resembling a firearm and the other to join him with a chopper in his hand.
A new online game has been created by Gdańsk researchers to promote the Polish language. 'On the Trail of the Baltic secrets’ (Polish: "Tropem nadbałtyckich tajemnic") is a game for everybody interested in the culture and history of Gdańsk. Initially designed for Slavic language students from Istanbul University, players can walk the streets of Gdańsk, solve quizzes, collect trophies and learn Polish.
