In the village of Wielki Łęck in Działdowo County (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), an unidentified aerial object has been discovered. The matter was immediately taken up by the relevant services, with the Military Police conducting operations on-site under the supervision of a prosecutor. This is yet another such incident in recent weeks.
The object, lying among the crops and resembling a drone, was first noticed by a local resident. The discovery was immediately reported to the County Police Headquarters in Działdowo.
Police officers secured the object and the site before the case was handed over to specialized services. According to the Warmian-Masurian police, the Military Police and a prosecutor from the Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Olsztyn were called to the scene.
Army Takes Over Investigation
The Military Police have now issued an official statement on the matter. It confirmed that “the Military Police Detachment in Elbląg, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Olsztyn, is carrying out activities at the site where the unidentified aerial object was found in the village of Wielki Łęck.”
Incident Near a Strategic Border
The discovery in Działdowo County is of particular concern due to its location. The Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship borders the Kaliningrad Oblast—a heavily militarized exclave of the Russian Federation.
This discovery is part of a series of similar incidents that have occurred in Poland in recent months. There have been multiple violations of Polish airspace, and drone wreckage and other objects linked to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine have been found on Polish territory. Recent incidents, including those in September, have demonstrated that Russian unmanned aerial vehicles can penetrate deep into Polish territory.
