American Prof. Claudia Goldin Wins Prestigious Nobel Prize in Economics

For the 55th time, the Bank of Sweden’s Alfred Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded. The winner is decided by the Nobel Committee according to a similar procedure to the other Nobel Prizes. This year the diploma, medal and 1 million U.S. dollars were awarded to American Prof. Claudia Goldin of Harvard University. The award, funded by the Bank of Sweden, is the only Nobel Prize not mentioned by Alfred Nobel in his will.
