Another Massive Scandal in the EU: Millions Spent to Push the Green Deal

It seems Brussels has been caught red-handed—again. This time, the European Commission (EC) has been secretly pouring millions of euros into environmental groups to promote the Green Deal. These aren’t just innocent grants, though. According to shocking revelations from the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, these groups were tasked with lobbying Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and pushing them to support the Commission’s agenda.

Bought and Paid For

€700,000 was handed to one organization with a specific goal—control the debate around legislation on nature conservation and agriculture to align with the Green Deal. This isn’t about dialogue or discussion; it’s about buying influence and outcomes.

Even more damning? During a recent session of the European Parliament, Commissioner Serafin admitted that the Commission’s actions were out of line. He acknowledged that it was “inappropriate” for the EC to fund NGOs with the explicit purpose of lobbying Parliament. This is a blatant violation of the principles of transparency, fairness, and cooperation that the EU is supposed to stand for.

A Bigger Problem

This scandal isn’t just an isolated case—it’s part of a bigger pattern of corruption and secrecy among the EU’s top officials. It raises serious questions about what else might be going on behind the scenes. If they’re willing to use public money to push the Green Deal, what other policies—like migration or agriculture—might have been quietly manipulated the same way?

Jadwiga Wiśniewska, a Polish MEP, is one of the voices demanding answers.

“As revealed by the shocking findings of the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the European Commission secretly funded non-governmental organizations promoting the ideology of the Green Deal, which lobbied Members of the European Parliament and undermined their independence. These organizations were even given specific tasks regarding the outcomes of their lobbying efforts,”

commented Jadwiga Wiśniewska.

She’s also calling for a full investigation and has joined Italian MEP Carlo Fidanza in asking the European Commission to:

  • Reveal the full list of NGOs that were funded, the officials involved, and the total amount of money spent.
  • Investigate how these shady deals were allowed to happen.
  • Come clean about whether other secret lobbying schemes exist—especially in areas like migration and agriculture.

What’s Really Going On with the Green Deal?

The Green Deal has been sold to us as a noble plan to save the planet. But let’s be honest—it’s starting to look more like a Trojan Horse for a radical agenda. Instead of fostering open debate, the Commission seems to be using backdoor methods to impose its will on Europe.
