Another Presidential Veto. Nawrocki’s Office Responds to Attacks: “Deceptive Propaganda”

“Veto against children” – reads another graphic targeting President Karol Nawrocki. The controversy concerns his refusal to sign the amendment to the so-called Lex Kamilek law. The Head of the Chancellery of the President, Zbigniew Bogucki, protested: “This post shows how low one can fall in deceptive propaganda.”

The President of the Republic of Poland vetoed the amendment to the Act on Counteracting Threats from Sexually Motivated Crime and on the Protection of Minors, as well as certain other laws, the head of the Chancellery of the President announced.

This did not sit well with the Ministry of Justice, whose officials had worked on the amendment. The ministry attacked the president, writing about a “veto against children.”

Bogucki posted a response: “This post shows how low one can fall in deceptive propaganda.”

“The President’s veto is a reaction to harmful provisions of the amendment to the Lex Kamilek law, which drastically lowered the standards of child protection and guarantees of their safety,” the statement reads.

He accuses the government of Donald Tusk, together with the Ministry of Justice, of wanting “to expose children to contact with pedophiles and other criminals, both from Poland and abroad.”
