Yesterday, the world was watching Venezuela and the United States. On Saturday, Adam Bielan, a Member of the European Parliament from Law and Justice, was a guest on TV Republika.
The MEP admitted that what we witnessed in Venezuela was a major military success for the United States, and in particular for the Delta Force special unit, the same unit that captured and killed Osama bin Laden.
„It is, of course, a huge personal success for President Trump, who had been seeking the capture of Nicolás Maduro for more than a dozen months. He offered him the possibility of leaving the country and ultimately achieved his goal. Maduro will stand trial before a New York court and will be prosecuted, among other charges, for drug trafficking,” Adam Bielan argued.
The MEP also revealed what consequences Maduro’s capture would have for Poland.
“For Poland this is, of course, of enormous significance. (…) The position of the United States is very important to us, because the United States remains our most important ally, also in the military dimension. Since the very unsuccessful, putting it mildly, evacuation of troops from Afghanistan during President Biden’s presidency, military prestige, and with it diplomatic prestige, has declined sharply,” the MEP said.
Bielan added that the “disaster” in Afghanistan (the withdrawal of U.S. troops from that country-editor’s note) contributed to Putin’s decision to launch the invasion of Ukraine. The MP explained that the dictator in Moscow could make such a decision because he perceived American weakness.
The guest on TV Republika also said that Donald Trump has already dealt Russia several heavy blows, citing, for example, his role in the overthrow of the Assad regime in Syria, the conclusion of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia on American terms, and the current strike against Venezuela.
The politician expressed hope that Russia has now irreversibly lost a supremely important ally in South America.
