Bodnar’s prosecution has just initiated a special criminal proceeding — meaning they want to imprison football fans. For what? For criticizing Rafał Trzaskowski. An outrageous scandal — how dare anyone criticize him? – mocked MEP Patryk Jaki in response to the news reported by the Niezalezna portal. The politician emphasized that if the vice-Tusk becomes president [Trzaskowski – ed.], there will be “as much freedom in Poland as in Muslim countries.”
Bodnar’s Prosecutors Target Fans Over Anti-Trzaskowski Banner
The prosecution is conducting proceedings against Legia Warsaw supporters in connection with banners that appeared in the stadium in April. These banners contained slogans aimed at the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, and Dr. Gizela Jagielska, a physician involved in a case that led to the death of a child during advanced pregnancy.

According to investigators, the case may involve defamation and insult of the Deputy Chairman of the Civic Platform (PO) and the controversial doctor. The banners displayed at the stadium included the following slogans: “Jagielska = Mengele” and “Rafałek ordered the removal of crosses. Now he pretends to be Catholic – do you know a more hypocritical politician?”
Jaki: “All that’s missing now is for ‘Rainbow Rafał’ to become President of Poland…”
The report was commented on via social media by Law and Justice (PiS) MEP Patryk Jaki.
“Bodnar’s prosecution has just launched a special criminal case — that is, they want to imprison fans. For what? For criticizing Rafał Trzaskowski. An outrageous scandal — how could one criticize him? Specifically, for the banner: ‘Rafałek ordered the removal of crosses, and now pretends to be Catholic. Can you imagine a more hypocritical politician?’”
said the politician in a recorded statement.
Jaki further stated, “Now all that’s missing is for ‘Rainbow Rafałek’ to become president of Poland, sign a hate speech law, and then you’ll have the kind of freedom you find in Muslim countries.”
MP Sebastian Kaleta also pointed out that Bodnar’s team is “pursuing a case that should be a private prosecution matter, meaning the public prosecutor’s office should not be involved at all.”
“An extraordinary scandal — Bodnar’s prosecutors are mere waiters for Tusk and Trzaskowski. They want to crush any criticism of the ruling camp. They are truly terrified of Trzaskowski’s defeat and the spectre of accountability…”
he remarked.
