None of the members of the Rozwój Plus Association who signed the letter addressed to Jarosław Kaczyński have changed their position, supporters of Mateusz Morawiecki insist in response to claims that “several people have declared they are leaving the association.”
Members of two associations operating within Law and Justice (PiS) have been instructed by the party leadership to withdraw from those organizations. The real dispute concerns the future of Mateusz Morawiecki’s Rozwój Plus Association initiative.
In a letter to Jarosław Kaczyński, members of the association wrote that they acted “in the belief that the future of the Law and Justice (PiS) political community depends above all on its ability to work together.” They added: “We are united by our concern for Poland and our commitment to the values that have for years formed the foundation of the conservative camp.” The letter was signed by 45 people.
Speaking on Polsat News, Michał Moskal said that several of the signatories had reportedly declared their intention to leave the association.
“I have information – I do not want to reveal the names yet – that there are already several people. We are certain that this group is shrinking. Some of those who took part in this initiative are themselves surprised by the direction it is taking,” the Law and Justice (PiS) MP said.
Asked to identify those individuals, Moskal replied that it was not yet the right time to make their names public, as they still had several days to make their final decision.
Members of Rozwój Plus Association responded sharply to Moskal’s remarks. MPs Sylwester Tułajew, Marcin Horała and Ireneusz Zyska denied that any of them had broken ranks.
“None of the members of @RozwojPlus who signed the letter to @OficjalnyJK has changed their mind,” Tułajew wrote. “Give us the names, and it will be easy to verify. Put your cards on the table! What’s the problem?” he added.
Horała also challenged Moskal’s claim, writing: “Whether this is true or false can be easily determined: please provide the names of those individuals so they can publicly confirm or deny it.”
Zyska was even more critical, stating: “My colleague is very ambitious. I think he wants to catch up with Tusk in telling lies straight to people’s faces. But he must remember that a lie has short legs.”
