Cenckiewicz on the President’s Important Morning Call: “Everything Is Under Informational Control”

“The President is in constant contact with our allies, with NATO Headquarters, and with all the most important offices involved in this matter, including those in Poland, which also maintain contacts with our allies. Everything is under informational control. The President is being kept up to date,” said Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Head of the National Security Bureau, in an interview with Polsat News today.

This morning, the United States and Israel launched air and naval strikes against Iran. This marks the beginning of an operation against the Iranian regime. The initial targets reportedly included high-ranking officials and military commanders, as well as strategic infrastructure.

The National Security Bureau announced this morning that the Middle East is one of the key regions for the security of the Republic of Poland, and that systematic assessments of the situation in the region have been regularly provided to the President.

“We were successively informed about the situation surrounding Iran by our allies, both directly and indirectly through Polish state institutions — with the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces at the forefront. The President was kept continuously supplied with information. Analysts at the National Security Bureau were also examining the course of the peace talks, which did not lead to any positive resolution between the Americans and Iran. In other words, the entire matter was being monitored on an ongoing basis, both internally and externally. Therefore, today’s operation did not come as a surprise to us — and above all, not to the President,” Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Head of the National Security Bureau, said in his interview with Polsat News.

He added that the President had been informed, among other things, that Poland must ensure the safety of its citizens in the region.

“From our perspective — from the perspective of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces — the safety of our soldiers is of paramount importance. Let me remind you that in the region directly adjacent to the theater of military operations, Poland maintains military contingents — small, but nevertheless present — in Iraq, Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. We also have defense attaché offices in several countries — in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. All of this must be secured, and it is being secured,” he indicated.

He added that wherever Poles are present, potential threats must be taken into account.

“I can only say in general terms that this morning the President also held certain consultations, but let us wait for official statements. The President remains in constant contact with our allies, with NATO Headquarters, and with all the key offices involved in this matter, including those in Poland, which also maintain contacts with our allies. Everything is under informational control. The President is being kept fully informed. The National Security Bureau also plays a very important role here, mediating some of these contacts,” he added.
