    Charleston Open: Keys defeats Linette

    Polish player Magda Linette’s attempt to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston fell short after a 2-6, 6-3, 1-6 loss to American Madison Keys.

    American tennis player Madison Keys put immense pressure on her opponent right from the start of the match. Her determination and motivation were evident, and soon enough she had jumped to a 5:2 lead. In the following game, Keys secured her advantage and won the set with a score of 6:2 in 35 minutes.

    Linette’s confidence was growing with each exchange in the second set, and a minute later she had a commanding 3:0 lead with one break. She then increased it to 4:1. In the seventh game, she saved two break points to secure the set and, after one hour and 23 minutes, the score was 6:3.

    Polish tennis player Linette suffered a crushing defeat in the deciding set of a match after failing to take advantage of a crucial “breakpoint.” She began the set brilliantly but soon found herself down 0-3 in the blink of an eye. Keys was unbeatable in the following three games. In the end, the American emerged triumphant with a score of 2-1.
