“Donald Tusk is insignificant. He keeps repeating what Berlin and Brussels say. He is incapable of formulating any theses or saying anything that would differ even by a jot from Germany’s position. When they say something, Donald Tusk always repeats it like some kind of parrot,” said Law and Justice (PiS) MP Paweł Jabłoński on TV Republika.
Talks on Ukraine Without the Polish Prime Minister
In his policy speech in the Sejm on 12 December 2023, Donald Tusk promised that Poland under his rule would “return to the place that belongs to Poland” and that “no one will outplay him in the European Union (Unia Europejska, UE).” Meanwhile, in recent weeks many meetings of world leaders on ending the war in Ukraine have been taking place – without Poland’s participation. Another such meeting is scheduled for today in Berlin. Surprisingly, according to information provided by government spokesperson Adam Szłapka, the head of the Polish government is nevertheless expected to take part.
In recent weeks, Donald Tusk has continuously published videos and photos online which, according to many commentators, do not befit the dignity of the office he holds. Yesterday, citing an alleged trend circulating on the internet, Tusk posted a recording in which he draws a dog on a sheet of paper. “Tusk is insignificant.”
Tusk’s behavior was commented on by Law and Justice (PiS) MP Paweł Jabłoński on TV Republika.
He focuses on PR, on TikTok videos. Donald Tusk is insignificant. He keeps repeating what Berlin and Brussels say. He is incapable of formulating any theses or saying anything that would differ even by a jot from Germany’s position. When they say something, Donald Tusk always repeats it like some kind of parrot, he said.
He also pointed out that, in his opinion, the Polish prime minister “is not any added value, he is insignificant.”
Remember what was happening in 2021, when the invasion was approaching. Who was building a coalition so that 2014 would not be repeated, when Russia began the war? Back then, Russia was issuing expressions of outrage and announcing symbolic sanctions. In 2021, Mateusz Morawiecki was building a coalition, traveling all over Europe, saying that there would be an invasion. At first they laughed, but thanks to Europe being informed earlier, a sanctions package was quickly prepared. If you want to, you can do it. In Berlin, two days after the invasion began, Morawiecki reprimanded Scholz. But you need the courage to formulate such theses. Donald Tusk does not have such courage, he is completely insignificant, the Law and Justice (PPiS) MP emphasized.
In his opinion, “today we are on the margins, because Tusk is not even attempting to put the Polish interest first when it may be at odds with the German interest.”
Tusk has never been able to formulate an opposing position. In 2007, he did not make his pro-Russian turn out of some deep love for Russia. He did it because Germany wanted it. Today, Tusk does nothing that is not accepted in Berlin or Brussels, he concluded.
