Environmental Disaster on the Bóbr River. TV Republika Footage Reveals the Full Scale

TV Republika journalist Janusz Życzkowski shared footage on social media showing the polluted Bóbr River flowing into Lake Rakowickie near Lwówek Śląski. The video reveals the enormous scale of the environmental disaster.

“Huge amounts of pollutants have entered the Bóbr River, and due to the threat, a complete ban on using the reservoir has been introduced. According to the latest tests conducted by the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection’s Central Research Laboratory, one of the samples showed mercury concentrations exceeding the permissible limit by as much as 50 percent,” Niezalezna.pl reported yesterday.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued on Sunday regarding the situation on the Bóbr River, the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office announced that conditions in the reservoir are stabilizing. “During subsequent field inspections, no dead fish were found along the monitored section of the river, while water quality monitoring and laboratory analyses are still ongoing,” the statement said.
