“I don’t feel that we should all be standing at attention before the largest coalition party,” said former sports minister Joanna Mucha today on Radio Zet. She added that Donald Tusk “is not capable of leading Civic Coalition (KO) to victory” in the next elections.
Recently, Donald Tusk, the head of government and leader of the Civic Coalition, expressed confidence that his camp would win the 2027 elections. But will Tusk still be prime minister by then?
Joanna Mucha, former minister of sport in Tusk’s second government, former Civic Coalition MP, and now a member of the Polska 2050 Party, said she doesn’t know about Tusk, but believes the government will survive until 2027 because – as she claims – there is no alternative. “We all keep repeating that this government just keeps going and going,” said Mucha on Radio Zet.
However, she does not believe that Tusk can lead Civic Coalition and its partners to victory in 2027.
“Let’s define what we mean by victory. For me, victory means that after 2027, the democrats continue to govern Poland. If we define victory that way, then in my opinion Donald Tusk is not capable of leading Civic Coalition, or any other party under whatever name it may have, to win sufficiently. But we are still here. I know our current ratings and polls are low, but we intend to rebuild,” said the former minister.
She then placed responsibility for the presidential election results on the Civic Coalition.
“I don’t feel that we should all be standing at attention before the largest coalition party,” she added, calling Civic Coalition a “30 percent party.”
