Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek admitted that questioning Dawid Kacprzyk “is absolutely necessary,” but when asked about his whereabouts, he replied, “I don’t know. I don’t think he is hiding.”
The scandal surrounding the Southern Hospital is escalating. More irregularities are coming to light – it is no longer just about the fast-track admission path and the so-called VIP lounge for politicians of Civic Platform (KO). Serious allegations have been made against a young doctor without specialization and at the same time an active member of this party, Dawid Kacprzyk – cases of deaths at the emergency department he coordinated will be investigated.
Waldemar Żurek addressed the matter during a press conference. The Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General stated that medical documentation in this case is being secured and that individuals willing to testify will be questioned. However, he added that at this moment no actions are being taken to secure documents at the Southern Hospital.
He was also asked whether the prosecutor’s office intends to question Dawid Kacprzyk.
“I think that this is absolutely necessary,” he emphasized. He added that the priority for prosecutors will be the issue of a doctor without specialization heading an emergency department.
When pressed by journalists on whether the prosecutor’s office knows where Kacprzyk is, he replied that it does not.
“I am not able to say that. I don’t know, but I don’t think he is hiding,” said Żurek.
