    Fructose: The Sweet Energy Source

Three-quarters of Poles know that vegetables and fruits help maintain blood sugar levels, according to research by Kantar Polska. Among fruits with the best perception are apples, blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, raspberries, and honeyberries. Among vegetables, garlic, cabbage, bell peppers, onions, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and green beans dominate.

A Natural Sugar for Quick Energy

Fructose, a natural sugar found in fruits, honey, and some vegetables, is an essential energy source for the human body. Unlike other sugars, fructose is metabolized quickly, making it an efficient choice for those needing rapid energy replenishment. This unique characteristic makes it particularly valuable for athletes and individuals with active lifestyles.

The most frequently mentioned fruit that should be consumed more often to help maintain blood sugar levels was the apple, with 23%.

Nearly three-quarters of Poles identified specific fruits and vegetables, while only 27% did not name any particular type. Garlic ranked second with 20%, followed by cabbage at 18%. Bell peppers, onions, and lettuce each received 16%. Broccoli and blueberries were chosen by 15% of respondents.

    Health Benefits and Moderation

Studies suggest that moderate consumption of fructose can support energy levels without significant spikes in blood sugar. Combined with other nutrients found in fruits and vegetables, it contributes to a balanced diet and overall well-being. However, experts emphasize the importance of consuming fructose from natural sources rather than processed foods containing high-fructose corn syrup.
