“I would like to state clearly this morning in the TV Republika studio: there is no room for negotiations here. The National Security Bureau (BBN) is functioning. It is headed by Sławomir Cenckiewicz. No one will be negotiating with anyone,” declared Paweł Szefernaker, responding to the government’s continued attacks on the head of the BBN.
The controversy surrounding the recent session of the National Security Council and the alleged revocation of Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz’s security clearance resurfaces. The government is not letting go of the head of the National Security Bureau, and, through the words of Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister and Coordinator of Special Services, announced that the Internal Security Agency would investigate Cenckiewicz’s participation in the classified meeting of the National Security Council.
Today on High Voltage on TV Republika, Paweł Szefernaker, head of President Karol Nawrocki’s cabinet, reiterated the presidential camp’s full support for Prof. Cenckiewicz.
“The Prime Minister and the government are looking for conflicts to cover up their incompetence in running the state. From the very appointment of Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, the entire Presidential Chancellery has stood firmly behind him. Our entire camp stands behind him. He is being targeted by these attacks from Civic Platform, the special services, and Prime Minister Tusk,”
he pointed out.
“This week, an article even appeared claiming that the government would want to negotiate over Prof. Cenckiewicz’s clearance. I want to make it clear this morning in the TV Republika studio: there is no room for negotiations here. The National Security Bureau is functioning. It is headed by Sławomir Cenckiewicz. No one will negotiate with anyone. Period. The Bureau is functioning. The Minister is fulfilling his duties. The President’s position on this will be firm and clear,” Szefernaker declared, referring to reports in Rzeczpospolita.

He emphasized that this is the 53rd day of the Chancellery’s operation. “From the very beginning, everything has functioned in cooperation with the National Security Bureau. That, in turn, maintains direct contact with the Ministry of National Defense. There is no room here for the kind of politics the government is trying to play,” he stressed.
He pledged that the President will remain firm on this matter.
“[…] Donald Tusk is looking for distractions today. After all, the Prime Minister himself participated in the National Security Council, where Sławomir Cenckiewicz served as secretary of the proceedings. There were no problems. The problem arises only in front of the cameras. Because they cannot cope. The government has the worst results in history,”
he said.
“President Karol Nawrocki is firmly, day by day, carrying out what he promised during the election campaign. Neither Prime Minister Donald Tusk nor the special services will hinder us in this,”
he concluded.
