He Didn’t Read the EU-Mercosur Agreement, Employed a Slurry-Pouring Activist… What Else? [VIDEO]

Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski, speaking on Radio ZET, tried to salvage the narrative around the scandal-ridden European UnionMercosur agreement. He failed. Instead, shocking admissions were made. First: the minister admitted he had not read the entire agreement. Second: while expressing outrage over the incident involving slurry being poured in front of his home, he acknowledged that a man who had once taken part in pouring slurry outside the home of a Law and Justice (PiS) MP later became… the head of his cabinet.

In a conversation with Beata Lubecka, Krajewski attempted to defend the government’s actions and highlight his own engagement, pointing to tough safeguard clauses and a record budget for the Common Agricultural Policy.

However, when the host asked about the details of the negotiations and efforts to block the agreement, the minister replied that he had held “dozens of meetings” with agriculture ministers who shared Poland’s opposition and admitted that he himself had not read the agreement in full.

During the on-air discussion, another controversial thread also emerged – the incident involving slurry poured in front of the minister’s home in the Podlaskie Voivodeship.

Police in Podlasie detained a 35-year-old man from the Lublin Voivodeship who, during farmers’ protests against the EU-Mercosur agreement, poured several hundred liters of slurry in front of Krajewski’s property, attempted to tear down the fence using ropes, and shouted threats at the minister. Police charged him, among other things, with making criminal threats and insulting state authorities.

At one point, editor Lubecka asked whether it was true that a person who had previously taken part in pouring slurry outside the home of a Law and Justice MP later became… the head of Krajewski’s cabinet. The minister – apparently taken by surprise by the question – confirmed it.

Let us recall: Law and Justice (PiS) is calling for Stefan Krajewski’s dismissal.
