Here is how Tusk’s government is destroying Poland’s finances. “This is the plan of those in power”

“We are presenting our draft amendment to the law, which, in our deep conviction, will break the crisis in national defense finances. We are aware of the threats facing Poland, and that is why the army must be armed and equipped with modern weapons”, said Mariusz Błaszczak, former Minister of National Defense, during a press conference.

Law and Justice (PiS) parliamentarians held a press conference today on the issue of Poland’s security.

“We are presenting our draft amendment to the law, which, in our deep conviction, will break the crisis in national defense finances. We are aware of the threats facing Poland, and that is why the army must be armed and equipped with modern weapons”, Błaszczak emphasized.

He also recalled matters that have come to light in recent weeks – issues that directly affect the sense of security of Poles.

“I was the first to reveal the scandalous decision of the Minister of Finance, who obligated the Minister of National Defense to repay the debt from the Armed Forces Support Fund solely from the 29th budgetary section. This is a scandalous decision that will lead the Ministry of National Defense (MON) to bankruptcy”, he said.

Next, the PiS MP mentioned the issue of purchasing unarmed F-35 fighters.

“I also revealed another scandalous decision – that the Ministry of National Defense did not order missiles for the F-35 aircraft. To overcome the helplessness of the Minister of National Defense, we are submitting a draft amendment to the Homeland Defense Act clarifying the provisions – obligations resulting from the Armed Forces Support Fund may only be repaid from outside the MON budget”, he explained.

And as he added – “this is also a test for the current minister, whether he will be able to oppose Donald Tusk in the name of the interests of Poland, the army, and the security of our Homeland”.

What is happening with Poland’s finances?

Zbigniew Kuźmiuk, a PiS MP and economist, raised the issue of Poland’s budget.

“A draft state budget for 2026 has been submitted to the Sejm, along with an additional document – the Public Debt Management Strategy for 2026-2029. Both documents are equally shocking. For the first time we have learned that public debt is to grow not only to the level of 60% of GDP, but even in 2029 to 75.3% of GDP. When we handed over power, the debt-to-GDP ratio was 49.5% and lower than in 2015. We are the fastest-indebted country in the EU. This is extremely dangerous and simply inexplicable”, the politician said.

As he admitted – “it is not really clear what is happening with Poland’s finances. It seems this is the plan of those in power – to ruin public finances and then hand over power”.

Andrzej Śliwka continued the topic. He recalled that “there was one budget without a deficit – in 2020 – and if not for the COVID pandemic, we would have had such a situation for the first time”.

“The PiS government pursued a responsible fiscal and economic policy so that funds were sufficient for many areas of social life. Unfortunately, the current rulers have returned to their old policy, indebting Poland on an unprecedented scale. We are in a situation where those in power are painting the grass green, but when it comes to facing reality, we can clearly see – unemployment is rising, debt is increasing. Instead of truly allocating funds to defense, the Minister of Finance blackmails the MON, and Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz bows his head and agrees to everything Minister Domański wants”, he said.
