    Hubert Hurkacz Battles Through Errors to Advance in Monte Carlo Masters

    Polish tennis star Hubert Hurkacz fought through a flurry of errors to reach the ATP Monte Carlo Masters’ second round after an intense clash with British player Jack Draper. Despite nearly 30 mistakes, Hurkacz’s resilience shone through in a thrilling match lasting over two hours, ending in a tense 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(2) victory. 

    Hurkacz’s journey to the second round was challenging, with little rest following his ATP Estoril final appearance. The Polish athlete faced Draper on Tuesday afternoon, a formidable opponent known for his tenacity, having previously defeated Hurkacz at the US Open.

    Although Hurkacz faced initial setbacks, he quickly broke Draper’s serve, clinching the first set 6-4. However, Draper dominated the second set, capitalizing on Hurkacz’s errors to win 6-3.

    Undeterred, Hurkacz rallied in the deciding set, seizing a crucial lead and maintaining composure during a tense tie-break, ultimately securing victory with a commanding 7-2 score. Now, his focus turns to the upcoming match against Bautista-Agut, as he aims to continue his quest for success in the Monte Carlo Masters.
