Once on court, Świątek quickly took control of the game, capitalizing on Giorgi’s mistakes. The Polish star raced to a 4:0 lead in the opening moments of the match.
Giorgi’s performance was marred by errors throughout the match, recording nine double faults and a total of 36 unforced errors, doubling the number made by Świątek. Despite having a chance in the first set, leading 40:0 in the sixth game on Świątek’s serve, Giorgi failed to capitalize, allowing Świątek to recover, win the game, and ultimately close out the set and match with relative ease.
